By Concirrus - September 15, 2016

London, England: February, 2016: Concirrus Ltd. the UK’s leading software platform for the Internet of Things has won a multi-city, multi-year contract as part of London’s Smart Cities and Communities Lighthouse programme. London is joining forces with cities across Europe in a €25m project that will demonstrate how innovative uses of technology can improve the lives of residents. The Mayor of London, Boris Johnson, in partnership with the Royal Borough of Greenwich, has chosen Concirrus to take part in the Smart Cities and Communities Lighthouse programme which aims to develop solutions to challenges faced by all major cities as they continue to grow and develop.

The Concirrus Connect platform has been chosen as the underlying technology for the ingestion of the myriad of sensor data coming from the connected technologies being deployed in London. Using its unique proprietary architecture, algorithmic analysis, and open APIs, Concirrus was able to win its place in this unique project.

The project will also develop a new model of sharing data across cities to make the best use of the encyclopaedic amount of information now available that can be used to change the way cities, their communities and services work. This will deliver a common data sharing platform that can be used by the cities of Milan, Lisbon, Warsaw, Bordeaux and Burgas who are also involved in the programme and could eventually be rolled-out across Europe.

Andrew Yeoman, Concirrus CEO and co-founder stated: “This is a tremendous project for London, its residents and businesses. It’s also a wonderful reward for the hard work of the Concirrus team”.

Since being named by Gartner Group as the only ‘Cool Vendor’ in Europe in the Internet of Things and reported by the Telegraph as one of Europe’s highest potential businesses, Concirrus has gone from strength to strength. Yeoman continues, “London is at the very heart of the European technology scene and we are very proud to be selected to support our city”.

The Mayor of London, Boris Johnson MP said: “London is growing at a record rate and to support the city’s future growth, we need to harness our incredible technical prowess and look to what new approaches and technological innovation can bring. By leading this ground-breaking international project we will be able to share ideas with our European counterparts as we work to create a city that is fit for the future and an even greater place to live, work and visit.”
